For our Purchasing Department within the European Manufacturing and Supply Chain Organization we are currently looking for a Strategic Purchaser.
Within the newly established Purchasing Department of European Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, Omron Europe B.V. is concentrating it’s strategic Purchasing competence.
The department’s role is to Support OEE’s Operational Procurement Requirements for 3rd party Goods of it’s Supply chain, for Components and Materials of it’s Manufacturing function and for Services of it’s business processes.
The Sr. Strategic Purchaser will be responsible for a share of the total purchasing requirement based on his experience, preference and the Department’s needs. Flexibility and back up within the small team will be required.
Accountabilities
Understand the business requirements by setting up and maintaining good communications with your internal customers.
Search and select suppliers .
Negotiate and close contracts with suppliers in line with the business need.
Establish and maintain a good workable relationship with our suppliers.
Monitor and manage supplier performance, realize cost down targets.
Maintain Omron’s policy and procedures of the requirements that our suppliers need to meet ( SLA’s).
Initiate and participate on continuous improvements activities within SCM.
Transparent document management of the purchasing process, providing the business with clear purchasing policies and procedures.
Realize Green Purchasing targets. Act in line with Omron CSR policy and Ethics.
Functie eisen
Bachelor-degree in a relevant area (e.g. technical study, (Technical) Business Management combined with Procurement related courses NEVI I and II).
7 - 10 Years of work experience in a professional, complex and international environment. Excellent project management skills. Proven ability to successfully manage complex projects with a scope across the whole value chain.
Analytical, structured, accurate and able to maintain overview, assess priorities and focus on concrete results. Multidisciplinary approach.
Strong communication skills combined with an innovative and result driven ‘can do’ mentality.
Experienced negotiator and a problem solving team-player who creates strong commitment and partnership with internal and external concerned parties.
Good skills in English. Additional language, like German, is preferred.
APICS CSCP is preferred.
Experience with ERP packages, preferable JD Edwards and Baan.
Knowledge of Electronic industry is a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally (mostly inside Europe).
